Outdoor audio-installation on the world's longest rope bridge of its kind in the Harz

Mountains are rather an exception than rule in Northern Germany. Therefore, the Harz region is very popular as a low mountain range for young and old. For those who are looking for action in addition to relaxation and hiking routes, will also enjoy the Harz: with Harzdrenalin, a place has been created, near Brocken, where, as the name suggests, you can pump up your adrenaline.

Whether swinging from a height of 75 meters with the Gigaswing, going down, 120 meters above the Rappbodetal dam, face to the front with a steel wire, the mega zipline that races down or - if you prefer something quieter - walk as pedestrian crossing the 458 meter long, steel wire bridge.

To ensure maximum safety, the steel bridge with the sonorous name "Titan-RT" is equipped with a sound system with a total of 20 speakers along the bridge. Visitors are informed at regular intervals about the necessary safety instructions. "The trailer can be heard crystal-clear across the entire bridge," says Stefan Berke who acts, together with his brother Maik, as managing director of Harzdrenalin GmbH. If necessary, guests can be guided in one direction through appropriate announcements.

Therefore, when choosing the right sound system, two requirements were crucial: "Since the best speech intelligibility and the large free space required an accurate sound system was required, loudspeakers were needed that could focus the sound towards the suspension bridge," explains Jan Röder of the system integrator and Pan Acoustics sales partner VST, who planned and carried out the installation.

In addition, the bad weather and bare conditions in the cold months should not affect the system. For this reason, the Berke brothers, as operators of Harzdrenalin, chose a weather-resistant version of the Pan Speaker series from Pan Acoustics in protection class IP 65, that promised durability and quality "Made in Germany". "We are completely satisfied with the installation. The sound is flawless and the collaboration with

VST was always professional and smooth", says Stefan Berke. And a nice thing: since the speakers are not only designed for voice transmission, but are also extremely musical, it is possible to make the walk over the suspension bridge with background music as a real highlight.
